Zero Punctuation Takes on Webcomics (Well, Really, Just This One)

Deviating slightly from the norm this week, Yahtzee decided to take a look at the process of producing a videogame-centric webcomic. It’s hilarious as always, particularly when you take into account the number of ways in which he (in)directly bashes one particular comic. (Hint: it’s not Penny Arcade.)
I’d recommend reading this and this if you want a little more backstory on what some of the jabs in there are at, but it’s not really necessary. It’s funny either way, and I loved that he decided to end with a note on hypocrisy, what with his little evil minion graphics used in Zero Punctuation.

Most of the reasons he hates Ctrl+Alt+Del so much are exactly the reasons I like the comic so much. I have to say, this is the one time I wholeheartedly disagree with Yahtzee.
It isn't just a bunch of random comics with vague gamer related topics.
Tim has described CAD as not a gaming comic, but a comic about gamers. I fully agree. I like the deeper story lines dealing with the characters every day lives. Gaming is just a central theme in a larger work.
For those of you who don't understand the CAD comics (in particular the non-gaming themes that Yahtzee rants about), I implore you to read this as well

Ah, I liked the music over the trailer at the end. It is by my favorite artist, Frank Klepacki!

Add my whole-hearted disagreement to that list, STALKER.
The reason I'm a long-term reader of CAD is that I can relate to it. I've been a gamer my entire life, and despite gaming being one of my primary focuses I do surprisingly little of it because I'm also getting on with my life.
Other gaming comics portray us as lazy bastards who sit on our butts all day with a controller, which is such a stereotypical version of events that it's borderline offensive.
Tim has the balls to show us for what we really are, people who game extensively but don't let it ruin our lives, and for as long as he keeps that up, he's always going to have my respect.
There's one reason I've never paid any attention to ZP, and the big part of that is how much of an egotistical moron Yahtzee is. Anyone can rant on and on about video games, but the difference here is that if I wanted rants that were useful, I can go elsewhere and I won't have to deal with people who have so many sticks up their arse that the sticks may as well declare themselves a legitimate country.
Brainless crap for brainless morons, and this one cements that reputation. Anyone who considers ZP as anywhere near a true representation of what gaming and gamers is about, really needs to reassess their priorities. And get an IQ that extends into double figures.
I'm offended, and this guy can go screw himself, the horse he rode in on, and that horse's mother. Preferably all at the same time.

Whats that Mikouen?
shwos us as we really are. The reason I stopped reading CAD was the opposite, Ethan just is a ridiculous character while the comic tries to be real, hes idiotic, practically the definition of adhd, kind of an asshole to everyone and we're expected to believe the stable relationships he has with the other characters? Sorry, no sale.
Yahtzee got that right, and the main reason he picks on CAD is because tim buckley takes himself too seriously and doesnt respond well to criticism. Yahtzee makes it clear in that video he is aware of his own hypocricy, and he doesnt expect people to take his opinion too seirously because he is a seft confessed arsehole. ZP is good for humour but not good for advice, and yatzee doesnt pretend it isnt. Buckley is the opposite.
