Zero Punctuation Takes on The Witcher

As you’ve no doubt realized by reading Gaming Today, a good number of our staff is fairly high on The Witcher, a PC RPG from CD Projekt. Shawn highly praised it, and I can’t think of any instance where anyone actually wrote anything negative about it.
And that’s exactly why they might not join the rest of us in laughing at Zero Punctuation’s latest review of The Witcher, which, to say the least, isn’t exactly glowing. Quite the contrary, in fact; Yahtzee labeled it as a ‘First Impression’ because he couldn’t play it long enough to justify it any longer than a few hours – he’d rather go do the laundry or something else less mundane.
And apparently the game’s manual is thick enough that you could beat a goat to death with it. For some reason, I don’t find this to be surprising at all.

The reviews remain consistantly hilarious, whilst that ending was just unequivally awesome.
you know, earlier this week, I went to a gamestore, and you know they usually don’t have PC games but I guess today must’ve been special because you know what they had in stock?

And I used to wonder why they didn’t carry PC games.
I love The Witcher, especially all the mini games involved (drinking contests, fist fighting, gambling and card collecting). The story has me hooked and if you’re a fan of PC games, which I am, it’s well worth the purchase of the international version. The American release has all the good bits from Geralt’s signature donkey kick to illuminating dialog.
The thing that really bugged me about the game (and I’m surprised he didn’t mention this) is the load times. You can go to the bathroom or grab a drink in the time it takes to enter another area.
