Yes, the Wii Version of Guitar Hero World Tour Will Have Actual DLC

When Guitar Hero: World Tour was announced last week, the press release stated that the Wii would have the same downloadable content and licensed songs as the other console versions. What made everyone curious though was if the press release was talking about the custom user generated content that would be new to the franchise or the old-fashioned song downloads that Xbox 360 and PS3 users have been privy to since purchasing GH – or Rock Band for that matter.
Good news for those who want to purchase the Wii version – you are a wall flower no longer my pretty. According to the CEO of Vicarious Visions (the developers of the GHWT for the Wii) Karthik Bala, the Wii version of the game will have the same tried and true DLC as the other ones the only difference being that since there is not enough space on the console, the size and format for the downloads will be different. Kind of like the difference between an Mp3 and a Wav I presume.
I am sure there will be more revelations from all involved regarding each version in the near future so check back with us often. Until then, just be happy for Wii owners because this time around, they will be getting the same treatment as the rest of us.

Is that what the wii version looks like, with those grainy icons sliding down? Reminds me of SNES! haha
LOL! No, it is just a generic Guitar Hero picture I posted because they have not released any Wii specific GH: World Tour screens yet.
Looks like a GH2 screen to me.
Hopefully they finally pull the curtain back on a hard drive. Would be nice.
More storage for the Wii would be nice. If you ever have tried to copy something from the Wii’s internal storage to an SD card……you know that the Wii’s system Bus sucks my ass…soo slow..
Go Marlins!!!!
it’s a real shame that the Wii doesn’t have a hard-drive. I have actually wondered if i could hookup my portable USB HD to it. I might check that out tonight.
Too bad GH DLC all sucks
