Xbox Live Update Will Allow Browsing of Other Members’ Friends Lists

Microsoft has announced one major new feature for the Xbox 360 dashboard update coming on December 4th. Once the update is downloaded to your system, you’ll then be able to view other members’ friends lists. You’ll pretty much be able to connect with all 8 million members of Xbox Live this way, even if you don’t know their Gamertag. You’ll then be able to send them messages, invite them to games, compare achievements, and such. Microsoft says their goal is to broaden Xbox Live’s community by taking cues from Myspace and Facebook in terms of being able to connect with others. Of course, if you don’t want people prying into your friends list, you can simply log into this site now and adjust your privacy settings. In other words, if you like your Xbox Live friends enough that you don’t want them getting hassled by random twelve-year olds that you somehow sleighted in an online match, you might want to think about setting your list to “Private.”

Ya this is good to be able to restrict the privacy settings. Now how about adding Divx/Xvid support, something useful.

I think that originally read ‘by incorporating ideas from Myspace and Facebook into an online gaming scenario the way Sony are with Home’.
Its funny how in 5 years they haven’t done anything like this until Sony are about to lol.
Then again, Norbit, by the time Live was started, social networking sites were really in their infancy. Perhaps it is a reaction to Home, but let’s be honest…Home is a reaction to the social networking sites too, so I’d be hard pressed to say this is entirely a reaction to Sony, though it would seem to suggest that as a strong possibility.
Certainly have to set this to private, or major trouble will be a given.
Sony PSN sucks, i wont even start, dont ever compare it to Xbox Live.
