Xbox 360 September Release for Rock Band 2 is a Joke

Owners of the Xbox 360 who were excited about being able to purchase Rock Band 2 on September 14 before it was released on other consoles may want to wait until October, if the GameStop website and the official Rock Band store information is correct.
Instead of being able to purchase the game in a bundle like we have grown accustomed to, the game itself will be sold separately, along with the instruments. Here is the breakdown:
Game: $59.99
Wireless Guitar: $69.99
Wireless Drum Kit: $89.99
Total: $219.97 + tax (and the gas it takes to get to the store)
OR – You can wait until October 8 when the PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 special edition bundles come out which will include the game, guitar, drums and an actual mic as well.
Not much of a reason to purchase it 24 days earlier, and to be honest, I think it is a rip off and Microsoft does not care as long as they are the first one out of the starting gate.

“Game: $59.99

Wireless Drum Kit: $89.99
Total: $189.97 + tax (and the gas it takes to get to the store)”
Seems your math is a tad bit off.
$199.97 should be the correct total.
And my match is a little off too!
I meant to say $219.97!
FUCK U MOTHA FUKA I HATE FUCKA ROCKBAND FUCKA FUCKA NIKKAAAA
Get off the internet and into therapy, kid.
Yeah, I hate it when my 5’s and 8’s mixed up… happens more often that I would like to admit.
Well, my group of friends really don’t need 12 sets of drums.
well personally not a big deal for me since i already bought the last version with all the instruments and the new instruments that are coming look somewhat interesting just not worth buying them again.
I dont think I’m going to even bother buying the guitar. And I am more interested in picking up the ION drum kit, but I will wait for some reviews to come out before I buy it. https://www.drumrocker.com/index.php
Hell, I was upset after all the images I saw of the drums I fell in love with ended up being of a VERY expensive “PREMIUM” version of the drums that I shall never be able to afford (nor willing to pay) for just a game. I will buy the game disc though and, eventually, I am sure my wife will sntch up the wireless guitar.
Salviati knows what I want.. Christmas is coming man, care to share the love ? Hahahaha
I’m fine with just buying the game
Well Stephany, it’s no joke. I’m not sure where you ‘heard’ that Rockband2 releases for PS3 and Wii on October 8, but you’re apparently misinformed
The current Rockband2 release dates are as follows:
- Rockband2 XBox360 ($59) Sep 14th
- Rockband2 Special Edition Xbox360 ($189) Oct 19th
- Rockband2 PS3 ($59) Oct 19th
- Rockband2 Special Edition PS3 ($189) Oct 19th
- Rockband2 Wii ($49) Nov 18th
- Rockband2 Special Edition Wii ($189) Nov 18th
Check out rockbandstore.com for the current release dates.
Most Xbox360 Rockband players already have the instruments and have no need for multiple drumsets. I ordered the ION Drumrocker set today which is a superior drumset to the cheap one that comes with the Special Edition. Sux for Wii people to have to wait until Nov 19 for either the standalone game or the Special Edition; oh well, that’s what they get
Ok is it just me or is this whole drum thing a complete and total rip-off?
Drums = $89.99, no cymbals or game included
Cymbals = $20 individual or $40 for the set, again no game
Game = $60
Add tax to all of those and you are sitting at roughly $185-190 just to play the game with a somewhat realistic drumming experience. (Which being a real drummer for 6+ years, this is a must for me).
I think I’ll just pass on this one or wait to see if I can get it as a college grad gift…
