Xbox 360 Red Ring Of Death On Display In A Best Buy Store

A gamer recently took a photo of a Xbox 360 with the RROD at a local Best Buy store. An Xbox with the red rings is nothing new, but I don’t recall seeing one on display at any stores. The original article on this subject brings up an excellent point; When displaying games, the display cabinets really should be set up with plenty of air flow for the consoles. It’s no surprise at this point that the Xbox 360 must be used in a well ventilated area, so it’s surprising that the official displays at stores do not follow the basic rule of the system.

Yeah I seen a lot of 360 like this in a lot of bestbuys and walmarts. I think it’s because they keep them a a really little box.

How is it Best Buy, Walmart, etc at fault for “not allowing enough air for the machine” what kinda spin is that? You bet if that was a PS3 Xbox fanboys would unite and bombard this post with an onslaught of comments. All I have to say is wow. What a turd…

About two weeks before Thanksgiving I was browsing through video games at a local Walmart and their Xbox 360 display unit had the red ring of death. Then on Thanksgiving a friend of the family was going off about how their Xbox 360 recently got the red ring of death and when they went to the post office to mail the unit to MS they were told by a PO employee they get broken 360’s on a daily basis.

Honestly, all biases aside, what other product has ever been so faulty? The Xbox 360 is the Pinto of video game consoles. It blows my mind that people are still willing to invest money into an extremely unreliable product.
