Xbox 360 Getting Team Fortress 2 Updates Later This Year — For a Price

The question has been raised a number of times: when, if ever, will console gamers be able to get in on the many updates Team Fortress 2 players on PC have been enjoying for months? Kotaku tracked down an answer to the oft-asked question at the Leipzig Games Convention, as Valve’s marketing director Doug Lombardi informed them that the updates are coming to Xbox 360 later this year, albeit for a price.
Having to pay for content that PC gamers get for free (not to mention much more quickly) will no doubt result in a fair number of complaints, but if the alternative is not getting the content at all, surely this is the preferable choice. The price and date haven’t been established as of yet, but don’t expect it to run you more than $10. Honestly, I wouldn’t hesitate to pay $10 for this week’s Heavy update, let alone that plus the Medic and Pyro updates.
Unfortunately for PS3 gamers, there’s still no word if Valve will ever bring the updates to Sony’s system. Given Gabe Newell’s stance on the PS3, you probably shouldn’t hold your breath.

Wow who didn’t see this comin, not like many people play the console version anyways, there weren’t that many servers up when I had the game compared to the immense amount on the PC
yet another reason why playing tf2 on the pc is superior to the consoles we get our updates for free and much much sonner by the time console ppl get this we’ll be enjoying the 4th class update.
hahahahah – So let me get this straight…
You PAY for xbox live (gold) and then you gotta pay for free updates too?
Man, you xbots are fucking tools.
I know man, I have an Xbox360, but no gold. I use free month trials but no way am I paying for free services…
I have both Xbox360, PS3, yet I mainly game on PC haven’t touched the consoles in literally weeks…
Eh, that kind of sucks a little bit.
I have the same situation as you MastaG I too have a 360 and PS3,yet play PC most!
Ah, capitalism.
What really gets me about DLC is that people are so eager to pay for such things. If it was free on the PC then it darn well should be free on XBL–guess that’s one of the reasons I don’t bother using the service. Why pay for the “privilege” to pay for things? Ridiculous.

you know whats even more ridiculous. I remember reading on Microsoft site, that they are not allowed to charge for DLC if another port/system has the same update for free. Yet this is the third time they are going to do it…
i todally agree, im sorta an xbox live fanboy buying xox live but seriously now, what are they goign to charge 20 dollars PLUS the 20-30 dollars FOR the game in order to get something you could get all of it for r20 dollars minus the live membership? completely messed up, i hope microsoft reads these type of messages so they change their mind
