Xbox 1 Games Coming to Xbox Live Marketplace

Starting on December 4, you’re going to be able to download original Xbox games from the Xbox Live Marketplace for 1,200 Microsoft Points per game. The launch lineup includes Halo, Psychonauts, Crimson Skies and Fable, among others, with more to be added to the catalog in the coming months.

This is exciting news, since we’re talking about downloading games from just one generation ago. I can immediately think of a number of titles that I’d like to get (and I highly implore you all get Psychonauts; they were kind enough to put it on there, so buy buy buy!), but one problem immediately comes to mind – storage.

Presumably like any other purchase from the Xbox Live Marketplace, you’ll be able to delete and re-download anything you purchase at no charge, but that seems like it would be rather inconvenient when you’re talking about the size of Xbox games. That isn’t to mention that the majority of consoles out there are fitted with 20 GB hard drives, most of which are probably filled with videos, demos, TV shows, Xbox Live Arcade games, etc. In other words, there’s not a whole lot of room to fit stuff.

Perhaps this will lead to a price drop on the two hard drives, which are currently priced at ridiculous amounts. I still somewhat regret dropping $180 for the 120 GB hard drive, but at least I’ll have something to fill the drive with now.
