tiqal XBLA Wednesday 3/26: TiQal

“In TiQal, you have been chosen to make an epic journey through many obstacles to seek the help of the gods. The village of TiQal is in deep trouble!” The game’s description on Xbox.com certainly starts out interestingly enough, even if it isn’t the most unique concept. What will you be doing in TiQal? What does this epic journey entail? Fighting your way through countless hordes of enemies in an attempt to save your beloved fellow man? Tell me, oh tell me what I’ll be doing!

“Destroy the block walls in your way by moving your magic Dropper left and right, rotating blocks, and dropping them into place to create squares of color. Build up multiple squares to score bonus points and unlock helpful power-ups.”

Oh.

At the very least, your 800 Microsoft Points ($10) will guarantee you access to what sounds like one of the most superfluous epic stories ever used in a videogame. Aside from that, you’ll also get 120 levels and a 2-player multiplayer that allows you to compete with or against a friend locally or online. The PR line claims what makes TiQal unique is the inclusion of fourteen power-ups. Whoo?

TiQal is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
