XBLA Wednesday 1/9: Omega Five and Tron

This week’s two Xbox Live Arcade games are now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Omega Five, a beauty of a side-scrolling shooter, and the classic Tron are the new additions, and will run you 800 and 400 Microsoft Points, respectively. I had a chance to briefly try out both games before I started this story, and my extremely brief impression is that Tron is a faithful port and Omega Five is a gorgeous, but ultimately shallow game. I don’t want to be too hard since I played the game for less than ten minutes, and the trial version of the game doesn’t give you a whole lot of time to really see what it’s about. The trial is definitely worth downloading, if for no other reason than to show off as a graphical triumph to your friends.
