strongbad WiiWare Releases to be Staggered in USUnlike in Japan, where Wii owners were presented with a launch of nine games and then nothing new for the next few weeks, those in the US can expect a more staggered release schedule. Nintendo of America prez Reggie Fils-Aime told Wired that the schedule for WiiWare game releases will be more spread out than what we saw Japan go through.

The Virtual Console model, where a few games are released at a regular interval, is likely how WiiWare will work, said Fils-Aime.

WiiWare is on track for a May 12 release in the States, but given what we now know, it’s anyone’s guess as to what the launch lineup will look like. Looking back at what Japan got on day one, there’s nothing I’m really dying to play right away; I’m more interested in simply trying out the service than playing any of the games on it.
