Last week, I mentioned some of the titles Nintendo revealed for the WiiWare service, which included Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Little King and the Promise Country. Weekly Famitsu revealed some of the details for the downloadable game yesterday and noted that it will be available for 1500 Wii Points ($15) when it hits Japan in March 2008. US and European release dates have yet to be announced, but we should be able to get our hands on it not long afterwards.
Taking up where the original Crystal Chronicles on GameCube left off, gamers will play Leo the Little King, a member of the Clavat-race with special powers called “The Architect”. This special power comes from the crystals and you will use them to build a new country in the barren lands. To use “The Architect” special powers, you must acquire skills found in dungeons and instead of exploring them yourself – you send mages and warriors to do the dirty work for you. See, it’s good to be the King.
When constructing buildings for your subjects to inhabit, the characteristics of what you construct affect the towns and villages. For example: By creating more magic schools you recruit more mages. By creating more weapons shops you are essentially helping to arm your warriors. All characters in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Little King and the Promise Country start out in the warrior class, but later on more classes open up.
