Wii Outsells PS3 in Japan While Xbox 360 Breaks Down

According to Enterbrain, Nintendo’s Wii console outsold the PlayStation 3 this past month in Japan by a ratio of more than 6 to 1. Nintendo sold 270,974 consoles from June 1 through June 24 while the PS sold only 41,628 and the Xbox 360 sold 17,616 (making a ratio of over 15 to 1). The Wii has been gaining considerable ground on the PS3, outselling it 4 to 1 in April and 5 to 1 in May.
The Xbox however may be lagging in sales due to its massive failure rate. It has been on shelves over a year more than the other systems and has sold more consoles worldwide (roughly 10 million), but a study done by DailyTech.com thinks the console’s failure rate could be something like 1 in 3. Microsoft has been claiming that failure rate falls between 3% and 5%, but the number of internet reports suggest higher numbers. According to former EB Games employee Matthieu G., “The real numbers were between 30 to 33 percent,†with a failure rate of around 50% in six weeks for launch consoles. The article is unclear however on whether or not this number is representative of all EB Games in Canada.

HA!
What’s cheapest: 1 PS3 or 2 XBOX 360’s..
I’m not a fanboy, or anything. In fact I don’t own any console, but whining over PS3 price is just STUPID!
