Wii-kly Update Brings Two NES “Favorites” to the Virtual Console

yoshiscookie1.gifThe Wii Shop Channel has now updated with two new NES “favorites” for the Virtual Console. First there’s Bases Loaded, one of the first really popular baseball games, which brings an arcadey feel to the sport. Then there’s Yoshi’s Cookie, where you’re guided by Mario’s dinosaur pal (for some reason) to assemble different shaped cookies into rows of three. Both of these titles can be obtained now for 500 Wii points.

That word “favorite” seems to be thrown around a little loosely by Nintendo’s marketing team. Sure, Bases Loaded was awesome at the time, but baseball games have kind of evolved a lot since then. And Yoshi’s Cookie? It’s was a generic puzzler then, and it’s a generic puzzler now.
