When ‘XBL Achievement Points’ Ruin Games

Xbox Live Achievement Points are great in many ways, but also seem to take away from games played online quite often. I’ve been playing Shadowrun off and on all week and have really started to notice how the achievement points ruin many of the matches.   I find that in many of the matches I am involved with there is always at least one person on my team playing only for personal achievement points. I have heard people saying they don’t bother purchasing “res” anymore because they already have the achievement. Actually helping the team win a game seems to be less important to many of these players.
Another thing I have noticed is the formation of boosting parties to gain achievements.    What did you actually achieve if you had to cheat to get your points? Perhaps cheating and playing online without any ethics whatsoever will always boggle my mind. I always thought the entire point of gaming was to have fun, make friends and to overcome challenges. If you don’t have the skills to compete fairly, perhaps you should consider playing some easier games.

i understand so much when u say this. ive seen so many people just like that there for the achivement points and it takes away fromt he game
i really think the creators should at least put some kind of higher cap on multiplayer achievement points to where u really have to work on a team to achieve them.
Now i play most 360 games and all i see is kids who just play matches and do not care if they win or lose but r there for the extra 100 points they can get.
i wish there were more games like call of duty 2 where the ahciement points were based in single player and the multiplayer was left up to you to just WIN and HAVE FUN
thats the biggest problems now on LIVE i dont have fun anymore cuz of how the whole LIVE community has gotten
