What’s The Best Nintendo DS Game So Far?

The Nintendo DS library has been expanding rapidly for a couple years and great titles come out all the time. People are always asking me what my favorite DS game is and that’s honestly an extremely tough question to answer.
While hanging out at a friend’s house, I became exposed to an interesting game called Daigasso! Band Brothers. At first glance, I assumed it would be like all the other rhythm games I have come to love. I certainly underestimated this title and it has quickly become my all-time favorite DS game. Unfortunately, Daigasso! Band Brothers was never released in North America, but there are some titles that are very similar to it.
Daigasso! Band Brothers is a DJ style rhythm game where you basically play parts of multiple instruments in each song. Unlike most other portable rhythm games, you are not simply playing a pattern of buttons to make a recorded track play. In DBB, you are actually playing the notes and your skills are crucial to success in the game. This is really a rhythm game that makes sense for people with backgrounds in real music. In addition to all that, you can also compose your own songs through the simple, yet interesting interface.
Daigasso! Band Brothers was released in Japan for the Nintendo DS in 2004 as a launch title, yet it still retains high value as a game. I usually don’t expect much from portable titles. Any portable game that can hold my attention for more than an hour is a winner in my book. This game could probably hold my attention until the end of time. There are 38 songs in the game which include the genres of K-Pop, World, Classic, Television and Games (which includes some great classics from titles like Mario and Zelda).
If you ever get the chance to check out this title, I suggest doing so. It’s by far the most enjoyable DS game I have ever played. Feel free to drop your opinions into the comments section below. I’d love to hear what game you think is the best in the DS library.

Favorite DS game? It’s tough, so I’ll throw a few out there, starting with Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan, Mario Kart, Meteos, Animal Crossing and, from what I’ve played so far, the new Advance Wars.
Games I wouldn’t mention that I think most would – New Super Mario Bros. and Zelda Phantom Hourglass. Both are overrated, in my opinion. Not bad, but they’re not as insanely awesome as most people make them out to be.
I agree that SMB and Zelda PH were highly overrated!
I have a DS and i love it! SO far i have mario kart ds new super mario bros and zelda PH and NO those 2 are not overrated they’re both awesome. What next DS game should i get?
Personally I liked Phantom Hourglass, but then again I am biased when it comes to anything Zelda related, and I did not feel that it was too overrated. Not as much as The Minish Cap was for the GBA. Most people I know who played MC acted like it was the Midas of all handheld Zelda games -it was good, but not spectacular.
But other than PH, I liked Orcs & Elves a lot, esp. since it reminded me of old school rpgs – our younger readers may not find that appealing, but those of us who have been gaming since the late 70’s would appreciate it.
yeah .. I’m not much of a Zelda fan anymore. I haven’t enjoyed Zelda for several years honestly.
While on the subject of imports, my favorite DS game is Jump Ultimate Stars, the best portable fighting game ever.
advance wars dark conflict is by far the best ds game to date the wi-fi is a nice touch to the game also 9.5 out of 10
Id have to say the most overated game would have to be Mario and sonic but im a huge sonic fan. I dont think ZPH is overated, its great, the best war game is without a dought brothers in arms! THat game is SWEEt MAN

well there is no such thing as whats the best DS game. it depends on your liking and personality. everyone said pokemon is awesome but no offence to pokemon fans but it sucks****************** crap. if you are looking for story go get a lego starwars/ indiana jones game. I truly think that the nintendo DS is not as good as some of the other consoles. But its still decent.
