WH40k: DoW: Soulstorm Demo Out

THQ/Relic/Iron Lore have decided to release a demo to the upcoming Soulstorm expansion to its Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War series of RTS games. The demo features a tutorial and two missions from the single player campaign. The Dark Eldar are the only playable race.
My early impressions thus far? Relic/Iron Lore need to ditch the air units. They sound good on paper, but the engine just isn’t suited for them. It’s like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Otherwise, I like what I’m seeing. The Dark Eldar look and sound wicked – as they should be.
The demo does not feature multiplayer, skirmish, or the “interplanetary scale” feature. It’s basically a showcasing of the new units added since Dark Crusade. Also, the demo is not without its bugs. I ran into simple pathing issues that simply were not found in Dark Crusade previously.

Also, I’d suggest anyone who has played the demo to share your opinions over at the Relic News community forums. From what I hear, the devs actually pay attention to the comments made over there. Hopefully, this demo will serve as proper feedback from the community prior to the game’s release in March.

Sweet!
