Watch Superman and Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Batman Duke it Out

One of the most obvious questions when considering the concept of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is just how will anyone compete with Superman? I’m not a big reader of Superman comics, but from what I’ve been told, he once sneezed and destroyed an entire galaxy. So a fistfight with the man somehow seems unfair.

As Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon explains in the new “Fight” trailer above, this will be explained in the game’s story mode, with the short version being that Superman has a weakness other than kryptonite.

In addition to Superman doing battle with Scorpion, you’ll also get to see my two personal favorites, Sub-Zero and Batman, do battle. You also get a look at Flash and Sonya fighting, and two new types of combat: close quarters and free fall. The latter seems very cool in a Hot Potato kind of way that should make falls more interesting.

The more I see from the game, the more excited I am to play it. In case you missed it, it’s been confirmed that the Green Lantern, Jax, Kitana and the Joker will be among the game’s roster of characters.
