This is exactly why Microsoft didnt put an HD drive in the 360 in the first place.

I’ve just read that the HD-DVD promotional group have cancelled their CES press conference;

just buy a pc imaballa it has every game in the world on it thanks to emultation software also we get better games, (Crysis, bf series, et quake wars) also we get hardware updates so we can have up to 4 gpus in our pc for instance

My God, what a horrible piece of machinery the 360 is… thank goodness all the 3rd party games in the future will be across PS3 so people don’t have to suffer with the horrible 33% failure rate ridden piece of crap.

I don’t see how anyone will be surprised that Blu-ray will win the format war. Personally, I prefer Blu-ray over HD-DVD and have since the beginning. The real difference you will notice is that Blu-ray movies often have better sound.

Despite Warner’s move today and the inevitable demise of HD-DVD’s for movie content, the 360 is still the best console out there!

And I will not buy into the Blu-Ray technology! Cost will still be an issue for the blu-ray camp. Somewhere over the horizon, better and more cost-effective HD technology will come along.

I too prefer HD-DVD over Blu-Ray and have built a pretty good library of HD-DVD titles. This is going to hurt!!! I HATE YOU WARNER!!!

I WILL NEVER BUY INTO ANOTHER DUAL/MULTI-FORMAT TECHNOLOGY WAR EVER AGAIN!!!

So much for the possibility of an Xbox 360 with a built-in HD-DVD drive. Perhaps HD-DVD can still exist for storage and console gaming media. Wishful thinking.

I guess I’m going to box up the HD-DVD’s with the VHS tapes in garage.

It’s as if thousands of HD-DVD fanboys cried out and were suddenly silenced.

Personally, I prefer HD-DVD over blu-ray, but damn, this is bad news for HD-DVD, no two ways about it. This could be the beginning of the end.

PS3 fanboys will be blowing their load over this all weekend, get your raincoats.
