EA has announced that the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning beta has passed the half-a-million mark for closed beta registrants in the U.S. and Europe.

Beta testing resumes next week with the Dark Elf lands and careers in place. EA Mythic thanks the loyal fans from around the world for their tremendous response, which gives the development team a strong pool of gamers to engage in WAR’s final tuning stages.

“It’s fantastic that over half a million players want to help us with the development of WAR,” said Mark Jacobs, VP and General Manager of EA Mythic. “Their feedback will help us take WAR to the next level as we focus on refining game play, adding polish, and most importantly, making sure the game is extremely fun. We can’t wait to let them all into the living, breathing Warhammer universe that we’re creating.”

WAR is scheduled for release in Q2 of calendar year 2008. Gamers that want to get in on the action can visit the Beta Center at: https://betacenter.eamythic.com/signup.php.

    Lol, 500 million! It’s 500,000 silly. :grin:

  2. Averre says:

    Yeah i was about to say 500 million -has- to be wrong.

    Still though 500,000 people isn’t anything to sneeze at for a beta.

  3. Alex says:

    500k people may want to play it when it’s free, but how many will stay when its 15$/month?

  4. Averre says:

    @Alex.

    Well there are quiet a few Warhammer fans out there, combined with online gamers looking for something new to play…i would say that the community for this game will be a good number.

    Hopefully for the fans of this MMO it will have a good number…last time EA had a MMO under them that had a low population they pulled the plug (E&B).
