Seriously, a lot of current games will play on win2k, do separate benchmarks and you'll find out that you'll get a nominal performance increase with win2k. It may not be much, but I know there are a lot of people out there who go after every inch they can. This might even be shocking to you, but I found that Half-Life 2 runs better on linux emulating windows, than on windows xp. People (should have) said the same thing about windows xp when it came out.
