Vista Games Could “Blow Consoles Out of the Water” Says Fox

An article on Fox News.com puts forth the idea that “PC games are returning to the pinnacle of video game graphics — thanks to some under-the-hood tweaks in Microsoft’s Vista operating system.” Basically, the article opines that DirectX 10 will push PC games back into the spotlight. While I’m not up for a debate on the relative merits of DX 10, what I would say is that consoles have always lagged behind PC games graphics-wise, so this is not exactly news. Now, if the new graphics bring back the old sales numbers, THAT will be something to report.

Im keeping my fingers crossed….. I hope M$ and Vista can prove themselves… Honestly I dont see vista as a good gaming OS so far… The only way I see them really capturing PC Gamers hearts is by creating an alternative package, like Vista Gamer Edition, Home Premium, Ulitmate, etc. But thats just me.. Maybe they will pull a 180 and surprise me
Microsoft has the $$ and the manpower to really turn PC Gaming back into the powerhouse that it once was, its just a matter if they do it right.
While I think computers have always out done consoles because of their constant upgrade-ability, I think more than anything Vista may hinder that. While a very attractive OS it takes a lot from computer resources, leaving less room for games to work.
PC gaming never went out of fashion, look at WoW and the Battlefield series, both have audiences in the millions.
I have been gaming pc style since 2002. I have never strayed to consoles nor do I think i will ever unless it’s a fragbox kind of deal,(still plays pc titles).
I’ve also been playing battlefield series on vista since it dropped. all my games run better on vista with fewer hiccups.
If Faux News likes it, then I’m against it.
