Virtual Item Sales: Virtually Gone

In a discussion with Slashdot, eBay has confirmed that they will now be delisting all virtual items. This includes in-game items, currency, and accounts. eBay representative Hani Durzy cited the policy that sellers of digitally delivered goods “…must be the owner of the underlying intellectual property, or authorized to distribute it by the intellectual property owner.” As ownership of virtual items has become a touchy subject, eBay’s answer is to no longer support their sale.
