Video Games Are Like Drugs

Some people jog to get a runner’s high. Do you play video games to get high?

JournalNow.com, which apparently is the online counterpart to North Carolina’s Winston-Salem Journal, is running a news story about the dangers of exposing children to excessive violence. Yes, we have heard the bandwagon of soccer moms across the country speak, and concerned we all are.

But where the article gets interesting is where it mentions an ex-Colonel finding that when playing video games, children’s brains behaved much like people who use drugs or alcohol. Or, drugs, really, because alcohol is a drug. Anyway, it apparently took three days without “violent images” for their brains to get back to normal.

It’s worth mentioning, however, that these findings come from the “Killology Research Group.” Take that as you’d like.
