Video Game Voters Network Launch Campaign

The Video Game Voters Network has launched a campaign to get gamers voting, and it’s not great. No, seriously, they could use some work on their video.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s an awesome idea to get a voter base aligned against laws which infringe on video game makers’ rights to create video games without having to worry about issues like censorship or banning games based on content. It’s important for people to stick up for the first amendment when it comes to gaming.
But man, their campaign video does not inspire anything except for unintentional laughter.
Recent efforts by the VGVN have not gone unnoticed, and Gamasutra has an article about how Doug Lowenstein really supported the cause at the recent D.I.C.E. Summit 2007. “You can not expect this industry to grow and prosper if you’re not willing to take the time and effort to help it,” Lowenstein said in the article.
And really, he’s right. There are a great deal of people who don’t care about video games, and so despite the poor cinematics of the VGVN campaign video, give them some support.
Oh, and get out there and vote, too.
