Video Game Focuses on Life in the Ghetto

Radio Praha of the Czech Republic heralds a new international title in production. The GhettOut! video game focuses on life in the ghettos and the difficulties of rising above it. The game is based on Tady a Ted (Here & Now) association’s board game Cesta z Ghetta. Here and Now’s Tereza Zikova:

 

cesta z ghettax Video Game Focuses on Life in the Ghetto“Like the board game, the video game should reflect the pressure of life in the ghetto and a certain psychological readiness: it’s not just a question of automatically getting your pawn or character out. In the game, players try to gain the highest number of factors to help them leave the ghetto. But it doesn’t happen often, just as it doesn’t happen often in real life. It’s more about the ‘readiness’ of the player to try and leave.”

According to Zikova the game has caught the public’s attention both in the Czech Republic and abroad. An English-language adaptation is planned.This seems like a game that could be easily translated for
