VGVN Launches Terminate Schwarzenegger’s Appeal Campaign

Everyone (unless they’ve been living under a rock) has heard by now that the California Ninth Circuit Court recently threw out California’s video game law, AB1179, which attempted to regulate computer and video games. I’m sure you’ve also heard that Governor Schwarzenegger is moving forward with an appeal on the ruling although the law was found to violate the First Amendment.

With the success or failure of this issue setting a precedent for video game law across the country, the Video Game Voters Network is launching an initiative to halt the appeals process. VGVN has started a letter writing campaign urging Governor Schwarzenegger to withdraw the appeal and focus instead on educating parents about computer and video game ratings and the parental controls built in all new game consoles.

Every Californian who shares a passion for video games should write a letter to Governor Schwarzenegger. More over all gamers in the United States should watch this issue, because if this law should pass in CA, it may also be implemented in your home state.
