uwe boll Uwe Bolls Postal Getting Huge Release on Four ScreensOh, Uwe Boll. You just can’t catch a break. The infamous director recently announced that his latest film, Postal, is getting an incredibly limited release on May 23rd. How limited? Four screens, and no, that’s not a typo. Why is that? Well, here are Boll’s rantings thoughts on the matter:

Theatrical distributors are boycotting Postal because of its political content. We were prepared to open on 1500 screens all across America on May 23rd. Any multiplex in the U.S. should have space for us, but they’re afraid… We have even tried to buy a few screens in New York and Los Angeles, and they won’t let us even rent the theaters! I urge independent exhibitors to contact us and book ‘Postal’! Audiences have been expecting the film and I don’t think exhibitors should censor what gets played in U.S. theaters.

Yes, it’s gotta be the “political content.” Theaters hate showing controversial political films. Remember Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11? Of course you don’t, because no theaters showed it due to its political content; “too many farting Bin Ladens,” they said. And it certainly couldn’t have anything to do with it being released around the same time as the new Indiana Jones movie. Plus the fact that all of Boll’s previous films have bombed at the box office couldn’t have had any impact on the theaters’ decision at all. I mean, it’s not like movie theaters are in the business of making money.

My sister had an ex-boyfriend that worked at a movie theater, he said they played the Double Dragon movie and nobody came on opening night so they stopped playing it. It’s good to know that people now a days know crap before they blow money on it, well… most people.

I went to the double dragon opening…

But you didn’t go to it at Gauldar’s theater, idiot. FAIL

Honestly, Uwe Boll has got to be the worst filmmaker ever. His films’ plots (if you can call them plots) are the most generic and archetypal portrayals of characters ever, when the plot actually exists. I say “when it exists,” because most of the time, his movies contain a bunch of random shitty dialogue and some shitty special effects that would have been shitty even in the sixties. His “films” fall apart in every which way, and worst of all, he keeps making them. He is this big arrogant douchebag that thinks that everyone seems to love his films, so he keeps making them and wasting money, and producers keep paying him to make his crappy films. He has ruined many a video-game franchise that either had potential to be made into a good movie or are just not meant for movies, i.e. Postal. Uwe Boll, please stop making bad movies and stop giving games and games-to-movies a bad name!

The saddest part is most people who see the movie are saying it is actually a very funny black comedy/satire. The problem is that he has made so many horrific ones in the past no one is willing to take the chance.

I personally plan to see it. I guess, we shall see.
