The long awaited GPS peripheral for the PSP could still be as much as a year away, but it looks like the version that will be arriving here in the U.S. will be seeing a variety of improvements over earlier versions.
The GPS system will be capable of running off either a UMD or a memory stick and will be priced in the range of $100 – $200, which is a fairly reasonable amount when you look at other GPS solutions. (Assuming you already have a PSP, that is.)
You’ll get full 3D walkthroughs, which is something I’ve never seen firsthand before, and according to Gizmodo, “Sony is thinking about treasure hunts, friend locaters and other geo-coolness.”
Details on the PSP keyboard remain scant, as it will reportedly plug into the bottom of your system, into the A/V and headset jacks, and is capable of folding up and protecting the screen. That’s all we know. Told ya the details were scant.

Funny, i was thinking about the progress on this the other day and then a news post pops up can’t wait for the final product.
