Update: Guitar Hero Rocks the 80’s Playlist

Ok, it is official – Guitar Hero Rocks the 80’s is no longer in quasi-rumor land. It is really happening, and seven song titles have been released. Please feel free to critique the following songs:
Round and Round – Ratt (LOL)
Holy Diver – Dio (WICKED!)
I Want Candy – Bow Wow Wow (RETCH)
Heat of the Moment – Asia (and now you find yourself in ’82…. Tum-tum-tum-TUM)
Mental Health – Quiet Riot (What – no Cum on Feel the Noise?)
That illustrious list will be the ‘made famous by’ playables on the game, original songs will be more palatable, for instance: “I Ran†(Flock of Seagulls), and “I Wanna Rock†(Twisted Sister). Please note that I was being sarcastic when I said ‘palatable’. There will be retro rock venues, unlockables, and extreme modes for the all powerful guitar god that you are!
Dusty Welch, the head of Octane Publishing was quoted as saying: “The 80s features an amazing variety of rock genres from hair metal to punk to new wave, and our dedicated Guitar Hero fans will definitely appreciate the opportunity to play all the new and exciting content we’ve added.” Alright Dusty! I am so there dude! Oh, and could you please include some Iron Maiden in the mix – maybe a little Flight of Icarus? Ahhhhh.. The power chord pleasure…. much more refreshing than altoids!
As stated in a previous post, GH 80’s is being developed by Harmonix, which is now owned by MTV who is producing a rival called Rock Band with their minions Electronic Arts. Here is where it gets REALLY confusing though – Neversoft is now the developer for Guitar Hero III which is suppose to land on shelves some time this year. Is that a brain scrambler or what – Guitar Hero is being passed around like – well, I won’t say. One more thing, to those of you who understood the ‘Heat of the Moment’ aside up there, you are just as big of a 80’s nerd as me.
what, no journey? bah. it’s just not a true 80’s rock game without “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
How about some “Owner of a Lonely Heart” by Yes. Or maybe “Livin On a Prayer” or “You Give Love a Bad Name” by Bon Jovi?
No AC/DC? How about “Der Kommissar” by After the Fire? “Layla”? “Stairway to Heaven”? “Limelight” or “Tom Sawyer” by Rush? “Right Now” by Van Halen.
RATT IS A MUST KEEP. THEY ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT THE ILLEST 80’s BAND EVER!!!
Right on, Doug! How can there not be one solo from Angus Young in any of the three games? How can there be absolutely no AC/DC?

So this will be my last comment…I think. I should’v mentioned this earlier, but why is Bow Wow Wow on here. Nobody likes that song…not even Bow Wow Wow. And I apologize for putting in Stairway to Heaven, wrong decade, sorry. I fact with the exception of 6 or 7 songs, this game kinda blows. I’ll still but it tho.
Right Now is from the 1991, Hotel California is from 1976 and Layla from the early early 7o’s. If you’re gonna complain a tracks not on an 80’s game, can we at least list songs that are FROM the 80’s?
I have a question….Is there no Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Guns N’ Roses, Van Helen, or AC/DC? Heck I may just enjoy some Micheal Jackson (the good part of him). I mean, I know it’s not the complete list but there could have been ALOT better one than the one listed above. EVEN though I do like Quiet Riot.
No Motley Crue? No freakin Metallica?? no Iron Maiden?? Other than Ratt, and I do think Round and Round is a great tune, there has gotta be some 80’s metal, and am not asking for Exodus, Overkill, Slayer or Testament (although nething by them wond pwn) but how about some more hair bands like Def Lep or Tesla (Modern Day Cowboy would just rock)but to include bow wow would be like adding Poison by Bill Bev Divoe (spelling..idk) but Poison by ALice Cooper would be cool..idk, I just think there are plenty of kickass rock/metal tunes from the 80’s that they can include
i think there could me more songs that are better then bow wow. really i have reserved my copy of the game and i hope it is not a waste of me money! i don’t think it will be though!
I have GH:Rock the 80s and although it’s a solid game as usual, I think it’s the worse GH yet. Not as many characters it not as big a deal, but cmon, the songs. As many people have posted, they are missing a lot of kickass songs but what kills me most is the lack of songs. There are waaaay fewer songs than in GH and GH2. Unless I’m completely blind, there are NO BONUS SONGS TO BUY. What was RedOctane thinking. If anyone was involved with making the last two GHs, they must have fired them. If you liked the last two GHs and think 3 is gonna be badass, get ready to get disappointed by Rock the 80s

journey maybe, they have some good songs, and great guitar solos, wat about bon jovi, guns’n'roses, def lepard, whitesnake, i think in the up comming GH’s they should have people send in the names of sounds they would love to have on a GH, i have the third one, and I’m not too crazy about some of the songs on it. i would like to be apart of making the sond list, and i think it would be a good idea if anyone could just make a list of songs, or bands, or even characters to have on a GH, guitar hero was a great thing to have made, but if you let people give you some suggestions on things to have in the game, it would become more popular (i think) and i would definaltey get more GH’s to play if they let peopl give suggestions.
