I went there a month ago and Unreal Tournament 3 was used in game design 2 and modding 2, the little kids below 13 were not allowed to play any games rated M or and rated T without parental permission. Each age group had their own tournament of different games. There was a local game of UT3 which i won, then an online, which i also won, so we had more than one tournament and we also played a bunch of non-tournament style games like CoD4.(I got to commander in the 2 weeks and weekend i was there, i also am eligible to go to Cali for a big UT3 tourney with the pros! the whole thing was a blast and i would gladly recommend going to id tech camps if you get the chance.

Actually I know people who went there. Theres an age requirement and I think you need parental permission if too young.

Opportunistic politicians will have a “field day” with this. Here you have a camp for children as young as seven years old playing and designing an M-rated game.

It looks like Unreal Tournament 3 is being used in iD Tech Camps Game Modding 2 class. The Unreal Engine is being used at the iD Gaming Academy and in the 3D Game Design 2 course at iD Tech Camps. From looking at the website, it seems pretty cool. I also saw that they have a new program called Ultimate Gaming Weekends where we can compete in gaming tournamets featuring Unreal Tournament 3. I have a family member that went to the camp last year and they loved it. I’m looking forward to it this year.

I went to one of these camps last year, and the games are only used in one class.

The “modding” class.

Last year they used Battlefield 2, and all they did was learn how to use the map maker. That’s it.

And then they held 1 tournament.
