UK Fans of Gears of War 2 Can Soon Get “How it Ends” Via iTunes

Fans of the Colorado-based band DeVotchKa or just fans of their song “How it Ends” featured in the Gears of War 2 launch trailer can now download the song from iTunes come December 1.

Microsoft UK bigwig Stephen McGill stated that “Due to the incredible success of the game in the UK and the insatiable demand for all things GOW2 from fans of the franchise, we’re thrilled to be able to offer consumers the chance to enjoy the track from the new TV ad campaign “How It Ends” as a bona fide single release”.

North Americans who use iTunes have been able to dowload the song for quite some time now, and considering the fact that the album How it Ends was released back in 2004, it’s safe to say that a resurgence in popularity for the band is happening. Not that DeVotchKa really needs a resurgence, because they are a damn good band and always have been. They are not very mainstream, nor can you really pigeonhole them into any sort of musical genre other than the (in my opinion) generic term of “alternative”, they are a very talented band regardless although not something everyone would like.

However, congrats to them on their newest success, and hooray for UK iTunes customers and gamers finally being able to digitally download the tune.

This is 100% PR bullshit. The song (and pretty much everything else by DeVotchKa) was already on UK itunes.

WOW you use Windows XP Norbit??? You know that Windows is a Microsoft product and not made by Sony right?

    Go Marlins!!!!

I have a dual boot system with XP and Vista 64bit. I did switch entirely to Vista but there were still a few little programs that hadn’t been upgraded by the devs to work with Vista so I went back to a dual boot set up. I love windows and am very vocal in my support of it. I think its an incredible product.

I don’t understand you at all or the impression you have of me. I don’t think much of the 360 and I don’t think much of people who stupidly attack the PS3. That’s it. The idea you have created that I’m some kind of Microsoft hating lunatic is completely of your fabrication.

On many occasions I have commented on here praising Windows or defending it against unfair criticism.

Here is one post I dug up; http://news.filefront.com/windows-vista-service-pack-1-what%e2%80%99s-it-got/#comments

The really funny thing is that on other sites I have been constantly accused of being a Microsoft fanboy for criticising Macs.

The world isnt completely black and white like you seem to think ManOfTeal.
