The big words from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot were given during BMO Capital Markets’ Annual Interactive Entertainment Conference in New York City on Tuesday. He was very high on Nintendo’s strategy and the success it has led to.
“[Nintendo’s mass market strategy] is very profitable for Nintendo, and very profitable for all third-party publishers,” he said. “…Because [the strategy] is working, we create more product [for Nintendo platforms] and this will actually bring more people into the industry. The Wii is going to continue to do extremely well with no limit to growth.”
He said that between 400 and 500 Ubisoft employees are currently working on the Wii and he believes that next year Ubisoft will have “Nintendo-like quality” on Wii.
He also went on to discuss the DS and the opportunities it has bestowed upon Ubisoft, as well as Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The child in my hopes this is true, but the cynic in my doubts it will be.
However, if they are truly making a play for more quality in their games, it can’t hurt.
