byunjoe - your setup will work fine. You CPU is most likely a dual core ship as AMD haven't made a single core 6000+.

Usually system specs requirements are based on Pentium 4 values. This means that a P4 3.2ghz CPU and the AMD 3500+ are on the same level even if though the clock speed of a 3500+ is 2.2ghz.

So a Intel Core 2 duo running at 2.0ghz can still out perform a P4 3.2 because of the architecture. Not only does it have multiple cores, but there is far more cache.

The AMD 6000+ is above both recommendations above, as it your geforce8800. It may not play as well as a Intel Core 2 E8500 with DDR 3 memory and a £400 vid card but it is still far above the basic and recommended specs that are stated above. Don't spend money that you may not have because of mindless peer pressure.

whoa whoa whoa whoa...

I am freak'n tired of these devs saying that these games will run a P4 with a gig of ram and 6600.

my friend has that set up and he can barely run TF2 ( granted he could probably tweak it a bit .. but still )

those are the minimum requirements to run the game... not play it.. it is more then likly that at those settings the game is highly un-playable.

dont buy a game based off the tech specs ... look at this in retrospect:

These are the system requirements for Crysis acording to Crytech.
Minimum Requirements

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz (3.2 GHz for Vista), Intel Core 2.0 GHz (2.2 GHz for Vista), AMD Athlon 2800+ (3200+ for Vista) or better
RAM: 1GB (1.5GB on Windows Vista)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (Radeon X800 Pro for Vista) or better
VRAM: 256MB of Graphics Memory
Storage: 12GB
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible
ODD: DVD-ROM
OS: Microsoft Windows XP or Vista
DirectX: DX9.0c or DX10

Recommended Requirements

CPU: Core 2 Duo/Athlon X2 or better
RAM: 1.5GB
Video Card: NVIDIA 7800 Series, ATI Radeon 1800 Series or better
VRAM: 512MB of Graphics Memory
Storage: 12GB
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible
ODD: DVD-ROM
OS: Microsoft Windows XP or Vista
DirectX: DX9.0c or DX10

And these are hte minimum for the Iron man PC game:

Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows 2000/XP/Vista
Processor: Pentium 4 @ 2.8 GHz or Equivalent
Memory: 1 GB
Hard Drive: 6 GB Free
Video Memory: 256 MB
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 9.0c
Keyboard & Mouse
DVD Rom Drive

Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows 2000/XP/Vista
Processor: Pentium 4 @ 3.4 GHz or Equivalent
Memory: 1.5 GB
Hard Drive: 6 GB Free
Video Memory: 256 MB (ATI Radeon x1800/nVidia GeForce 7800)
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 9.0c
Keyboard & Mouse
DVD Rom Drive

They arent to differnt from each other.. and the sad part is.. Iron man for PC is a psp port.. the psp.. while at a much lower resolution then most people run their pc monitor at.. runs at stock at 266mhz.

read up before buying a game.. just cuz the system specs say you can run it.. doesnt mean you can play it

At least we can actually believe specs from them. Other certain developers *cough*Funcom*cough ...not so much. If Far Cry 2 was coded by Funcom you'd need to double the recommended specs to play at all.

Or you could not be cheap and upgrade :P

Check out www.newegg.com You can find plenty of good budget cards to use that are better than the 6600. Just be sure to do some research.

Admittedly my systems a bit old now. I'm not worried about missing out on this game with my Nvidia 6600 card. But Ubisoft will inevitably blame pirates for people like me not picking up or playing the game due to technical specs.
