According to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, Sony “has to decrease the price (of the PS3) significantly to maintain dominance” He also said that he thinks “Sony will have a different market share, lower than before”. This was his response to comments made at the Reuters Global Technology, Media and Telecoms Summit in New York. Guillemot announced that Ubisoft has an exclusive title slated for the console, but failed to give any more information. Hmmmm. Granted, the PS3 has 34 new titles on the horizon, and a price cut would be great for the consumer, but will Sony actually make the price cut so soon? Will consumers buy the console for exclusive content only? The next few months should give us an idea – we all know that the price of the PS2 went down relatively quickly – if two years on the market can be considered ‘quick’.
