Ubisoft Announces Assassin’s Creed Score Composer

Ubisoft has announced the composer chosen to create the score for its upcoming Assassin’s Creed game. British Academy Award–winner Jesper Kyd was chosen for his combination of epic orchestral compositions with acoustic, percussion and vocal performances.
“We listened to many composers before finding the right person for Assassin’s Creed. Jesper Kyd turned out to be the perfect match for the title because he is able to create epic historical pieces fused with both traditional medieval instruments and modern synth sounds,” shared Jade Raymond, producer of Assassin’s Creed.“For Assassin’s Creed we wanted the score to capture the gruesome atmosphere of medieval warfare but also be edgy and contemporary. Jesper not only achieved this balance but also underlined the changes in gameplay and pacing in a way that immerses the player even further into the Assassin’s Creed experience.”
Gamers will have a chance to experience Assassin’s Creed on the Xbox360 and PS3 in November and the PC and DS in early 2008.

As much as I love looking at the lovely Jade Raymond, if you are going to have a picture with this news story, it should be one of the person who is the real subject of this story, i.e. the composer Jesper Kyd. Otherwise the title of this story should be “Jade Raymond Says Some Kind Words About Some Guy Who Helped Her Create The Music For Her Game, Assassin’s Creed.”
I’m with Phil on this one. She IS attractive, but what about the composer ? Or maybe just a pic from the game ?
Well I have to pass this one up the chain – it was the news director’s suggestion to have Jade’s pic there.. however that said, how many of you would have even noticed the news if it had just been about the composer?
The image is being changed though as we speak.
Good job guys
“however that said, how many of you would have even noticed the news if it had just been about the composer?”
Because of the way that this website is designed, I notice the news from the headline text listed on the right side of this page, not by any pictures.
Regarding Jade’s picture, the objection I had with Jade’s picture being present was because it was a misrepresentation of the headline. If someone didn’t closely read the article and just saw the picture and read the headline, they would reasonably think that the woman pictured (Jade) was the composer mentioned in the headline.
Now if the news story had both Jade eand Jesper’s pictures featured along with a caption to identify who is what, I wouldn’t have complained since Jade is featured and quoted in the article.
That was actually my original plan.. to lead with the Jad pic and do a break and then have the other pic.. no matter.. its been a long day and we’re just trying to have a bit of fun… but all is right now
sorry.. I meant Jade.. damn this system that doesn’t allow you to edit your comments
“sorry.. I meant Jade.. damn this system that doesn’t allow you to edit your comments”
Amen to that. If you guys really want to fix something, fix that by adding the ability to edit comments. I am prone to typos myself, and I hate it when they slip through and can’t be corrected.
Nice choice. Jesper always did the Hitman series right.
This article just got a whole lot sexier now that we replaced Jade with Jesper…
…wait…who said that?
By the way for those of you who miss the beautiful, smiling Jade Raymond, here she is in all her toothy glory:

Slap her! She thinks she’s French.

A funny read.
“A funny read.”
Amen. That’s some good stuff. They have a nice manifesto on that website too. Thanks for pointing that out because I hadn’t heard of that website before.
A funny and an interesting read.. Thanks for the info.
