In a prelude to its release, Bioshock has been rated by the ESRB. It should come as no surprise to anyone who’s seen the trailers that it received the obligatory M for Mature for “Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language”.
More interesting is that the Japanese-style roleplaying game Blue Dragon has been rated as well (”T” for Alcohol Reference, Crude Humor, Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, Mild Suggestive Themes). Why is that interesting? Blue Dragon is one of the games that actually made the XBox 360 sell in Japan, by virtue of its inclusion in bundles. Now that the ESRB has rated the title, there’s speculation that this rating signals an imminent release in the United States.
If that’s the case, I’m sure the RPG fans might decide to give it a try.
