It didn’t take much of a stretch of the imagination, but following some detective work by GameFAQs members playing Twisted Metal: Head On, David Jaffe has confirmed suspicions by stating that Twisted Metal on PS3 is developer Eat Sleep Play’s next project.
A message in the game was deciphered to read as “METAL IS COMING ON PSTHREE.” Kotaku contacted David Jaffe, who confirmed this was true but declined to comment on whether the game would be released on Blu-ray or through PlayStation Network.
Jaffe recently spoke with 1UP, telling them that a new Twisted Metal would have to be a triple-A product and not soem Steven Segal-esque rehash.
If we were to make another one, I think part of our goal would be, ‘How do we satisfy the fanbase that we have that we’re very grateful for, but how do we also kind of rethink the series as a whole and the franchise as a whole, in order to really take it out of that, kind of…
I’m terrible with analogies, but I keep throwing them out to you. We don’t want to be the Steven Seagal of action movies; we want to be the Schwarzenegger of action movies, and so we want to figure out how to really turn it into a AAA product before we make another one.
I’m glad to hear Twisted Metal PS3 is coming, and I’m pretty sure this will be another Warhawk-esque situation where the game will be available on PSN and in stores, with the retail version packing in something extra so as to keep retailers happy.

Depending if Metal Gear Solid 4 comes to the Xbox for PS3 will be my deciding factor on getting what system. I would love to play TM again and I would also like to play Halo 3… but geez the choices …
