For those of you who have run out to your local retail store this morning to purchase the just released Call of Duty: World at War on the PC, Treyarch has issued a 317Mb patch fixing some of the minor issues you will encounter with the SLI support, multiple buddy invites, and weapon balancing amongst others.

The patch notes are relatively short so we have listed the entire list for you here:

  • Mods are now enabled in Co-op, Single Player, and Multiplayer
  • Improvements for SLI support
  • G_Spawn: no free entities crash has been fixed
  • Server no longer runs out of script variables
  • License key is no longer required to run a Dedicated Server
  • A Dedicated Server can now be started from the Command Line via Remote Desktop Connection
  • Various fixes in Server Browser
  • Players will no longer see multiple friend invites from the same friends
  • When a player calls in a recon plane in a Hardcore match, the HUD will properly appear
  • Clan Tags will now display in game where appropriate
  • Map holes fixed
  • Spawn improvements and weapon balancing
  • Remote desktop now works with dedicated server

With the installation of Patch v1.1, from now on when you log into your game you will be automatically notified when a new patch is available–therefore you will no longer have to search the net or the official game site for one. 1. Buddy Love says:

How is the game? Aren’t the ones made by Treyarch (as opposed to Infinity Ward) pretty crappy? I’m curious. COD4 was awesome, does this live up to it?

  2. Stephany says:

I have no clue Buddy, I am stuck at my desk and unable to run down to the store and see if any are still in stock. Plus, I want to read all the reviews on it before I make a decision…

Maybe some of the readers can chime in and let you know.

  3. Zaruka says:

man i have to wait a week before i even think of getting this because of broke i hope it really good the beta was fun.

  4. DerpsMcDoogal says:

im honestly quite fed up with this…i cant get my multiplayer to run and as far as i am concerned solo play is useless. I tried it out and the gameplay was quite similar to 4 but…to each is own…i want multiplayer!

  5. Matt Ramos says:

I’m really disappointed – I get black screens a lot and can’t shut the game down properly and have to use the tast manager to shut it down, multi-player won’t even work – the patch didn’t help at all – overall really feel let down for the money. I’d hold off on buying this until the game is fixed – this will no way be as popular as COD4 when people realize how many issues there are with it.
