How cool is a transformer which you can also use to play games on your PlayStation? I could imagine myself, the eleven year-old Andrew, wanting to finish up Resident Evil and then change my controller into a robot to hide it from robbers.

Can I have a side of awesome sauce with that?

Part of Kotaku’s coverage of Comic Con 2007 included a bit about what they found over at Hasbro’s booth, which is the transformer controller pictured above. The transformer is an Autobot named High Score 100, and looks like it goes from a Dual Shock controller to the awesome-bot on the glass case above it.

As part of the “Real Gear” robots line, Hasbro will be releasing it next month into stores.

When can i buy it? And is it sturdy? Will it fall apart on me, considering the abuse the controllers can recieve during play? And is the directional pad same as sony or the crap aftermarket type?
