Gaming has quite a few hurdles to jump before it’s truly embraced by America, the first being getting gamers to stop playing long enough to watch it on television.
This doesn’t bother Richard Skelhorn, Co-Founder and Director of Tournament.com one bit. In fact, he told ComputersandVideoGames in an article today that he “is very interested in submitting gaming as an Olympic sport.”
The politics of the Olympic games are complicated enough as it is, and personally I don’t think we’re going to see Olympic gaming alongside traditional sports in our lifetime. But who knows, people thought the same thing about snowboarding.

How stupid. Everyone knows the Olympics reward the most steroid consumed athletes in the world. If steroids could somehow give you an edge in Starcraft then maybe we’ll talk.
