top ten banned video games

The hoopla over the Manhunt 2 ban is in full swing, and it has gamers talking about other games that have been banned or received mature ratings. Over at Games Radar, they have posted a list of the Top 10 Banned Video games. I will give you their rundown with my personal thoughts.

10. 50-Cent Bulletproof  - Banned in Australia - Personally this game should have been banned everywhere just for the sake of being banned. Actually it, along with his movie should never have been made in the first place. Fifty Cent is an egomaniac and a thug and I do not condone turning criminals into role models. Plus, the game sucked.

9. Commandos Behind Enemy Lines - Banned in Germany - no surprise considering the Nazi connotations. Anything Nazi related is usually banned in Germany because they are still embarrassed.

8. Pokemon Emerald Version - Banned in Saudi Arabia - Pokemon is the anti-Christ.

7. The Guy Game - Banned in the USA - This was banned and Girls Gone Wild was not? Give me a break. It was banned because a 17 year old was flashing her lady bits - like I said, Girls Gone Wild has been there and done that, and you can see a 17 year old lift her shirt any Friday night anywhere in America at any given time. Well, you can in my state anyway.

6. Mercenaries - Banned in South Korea - I am not too surprised on this one either because they really do have psycho neighbor.

5. Command and Conquer: Generals - Banned in China - China gets all out of whack anytime you depict them as less than flattering, so this is no surprise to me either.

4. Graw 2 - Banned in Mexico - Apparently the government did not take kindly to the storyline, and apparently they still do not understand it.

3. Reservoir Dogs - Banned in New Zealand - I do not understand why you can see boobs and butt on TV overseas, but can not see some blood and gore in your video games. Blows my mind.

2. Marc Ecko’s Contents Under Pressure - Banned in Australia - I am not familiar with this game so I am not going to say anything smarmy. The reason it was banned was because of graffiti being illegal in Australia. Go figure.

1. Postal - Banned in 13 Countries - Never played it, but I can say that the ideal of being able to virtually go postal in your living room sounds groovy to me. Everyone feels like going postal once in while, hell, I’m feeling that way right now.

To find out the main reasons why these games where banned with a little bit of the game’s history thrown in, go checkout the original article.

I think violent video games are God’s gift to man and violent video games should never be banned for being violent. I played all the way through Reservoir Dogs and it isn’t even that violent seriously. I LOVE VIOLENT VIDEO GAMES . I can’t think of anything that would make me happier than to play Postal 2 . I’ll play it as soon as the opportunity presents itself. When I play it, I’ll look something like this

I think that Manhunt is awesome. I want Manhunt 2 in all its gore filled awesomeness on my Playstation 2. I’m so  at the ESRB for giving it an AO rating. I have every right to play it on my Playstation 2. I want violent video games to have free reign because they are the greatest invention ever. I was so  when they gave it an AO rating. It made me.       These anti-game people are pissing me off. I love violent video games and believe in their innocence more than anything on this planet.

Thank you for the compliment  HA HA HA HA HA I love violent video games. I think that games like Manhunt are the best thing ever        This is what electricity was supposed to be used for                 The ESRB finally decided to give Manhunt 2 a rating of M. I will play this game in November and it will be awesome     Violent video games are awesome and I think that people who are against violent video games and want to get them banned should shut up. I’ve heard that in Germany they are very tough on video games, yet they let people walk around completely naked. That doesn’t make sense. They think it’s okay to walk around completely naked, but it’s wrong to play a video game that depicts violence? That doesn’t sound right. I want people who want to ban violent video games to shut up and go to hell                I love the things that Lionel Starkwether says in the first Manhunt game                  Let’s praise Rockstar Games for what they do. It’s awesome and they deserve a medal for their awesome games

What about some games that never made it to the shelf? One i can think of and have played is Thrill Kill. This was very fun. It was never officaly released for the PS1 and was canceled.

Too bad it was a great game. Only those with a Modchip in the PS1 and a downloaded copy can play it. It was worth the effort. I guess this was too violent at the time. I dont know if this counts because it was never released, i just had to mention it.

  6. RoklanandhisXbox says:

why do you really dislike 50cent? why don’t you be honest… Ive seen scarface, the goodfellas and Im waiting to see a mob movie based on the Bush family. The reason why I mentions those movies is because it is about drugs and guns and killing. No one tried to become a role model in those movies and no one tried to become a role model in fiftys movie! I am not a really big 50cent fan but your reasons for getting his movies banned goes against every american gangster classic thats been made. I will totally agree with you that bulletproof was a bad game. And I was with you when you was saying it should have been banned everywhere but only because the game’s engine sucked, it was hard to control and the story wasnt that interesting! Also, there is a egomaniacal thug in the white house! If we cant be like our president in America, who should we model ourselves after? Im sure you know where Im getting with this and its a word that starts with “R” and ends with “T” and its sometimes called “White America’s favorite pasttime” and yes its a pasttime you love more than Baseball!

I hope you change your wicked ways!

I can agree with the comments you had about the other games and good luck on your blog

  7. biggmck says:

HEy Xboxlenny, the game you speak of, thrill kill and the mod in the ps1, I have it, well the modded ps1 anyway. I got it when I was in South Korea, took the guy all of 2 mins to mod my ps1 and off I went. That game was fucking sweet. If you every get a chance to play it, go for it, best fighting game I’ve played. Love the Imp and the Dr. Nice finishing moves too. :)

Violent video games are… well, violent. (Who Knew?!)
Games such as Manhunt 2 are banned for a reason, because they are incredibly evil. I think the U.S. did a good thing banning that game.
Daniel, I cannot say I agree with you.
Daniel from your July 8th(12:44) post, if they were innocent, they wouldn’t be called ‘Violent’ games.
Given that some countries such as Germany and China are a little strong on video game bans ( Hey, their either Socialist or Communist) the ones in America have petty good support on why they are bannedn If I were Attorney General, there would be a lot more banned games.

  9. Luccy x says:

  12. Xboxlenny says:

YA i used to own Thrill kill for my modded PS1, it was a sweet game. Too bad the title got sold and then canned. It was an awesome game, 4 player, cool movies, cool costumes, and finishing moves. it put Mortal Kombat to shame at the time.

It was one of those games if had to be released there would be a sequel by todays standards. alot worse games have come since. Thrill Kill was awesome. stupid Virgin, EA or who ever bought the rights, you lost out big time.

  13. Zardox says:

Postal and Manhunt the best   HAHAHAHA

well according to my calculations the games that are banned above shouldn’t have to be up to the whoever wants them to be banned, i think that it should be the up to the customers whether they want it to banned or not….. honestly aye, why banned the games?? whats the whole point of inventing the bloody thing.. plus i agree to the comment below it aint even that violent….. well maybe just a little , it depends on who’s using it and who’s buying it…. if they’re gonna ban the games why not just ban underage users instead of baning it from the whole Australia.. it sucks really…

  16. Bwanden says:

Nobody gives a shit about your opinion on the games!
Just tell us where they are banned. DON’T ADD YOUR THOUGHTS.

Editor’s Note: If you don’t like opinion, why are you here? The entire core philosophy of our site is news with an editorial slant.
