Top 5 Odd Alternate Costumes

There is a strange tradition in Japanese games where players can change the costume of main characters after unlocking or completing some task or mission. I’ve never understood the attraction but Leigh Alexander’s The Aberrant Gamer column has a top 5 list of the oddest, most aberrant costumes in game history. I’m not sure I completely agree with her choices, as I think any of a dozen female costumes in Rumble Roses or Virtua Fighter games are weirder than the ones she’s highlighted – The God of War II Cod of War Suit takes the cake. I’m sure there are some even I have not seen out there.. maybe we should hold a contest to find the oddest alternate costume suggestion here in the comments section of this post.. link to an image of the oddest costume you’ve seen in a video game.

Lol…don’t just put the blame on the Japanese folks….there is plenty of western people which like playing these type of games too.
True, its not just a Japanese trait.. there are plenty of strange westerners but it just seems to be tied into the culture over there more from my perspective. Its like the measurements and bust size of every female character being displayed proudly in a game manual.. there are cultural differences. (That and they never put them into American Cup sizes.. its always that metric stuff)
Well…they always put it in metric because 99% of all countries on this planet use the metric system.
