Top 5 Cartoons Based On Video Games

Cartoons based on video games are about equally hit and miss as Hollywood movies of the same kind. Occasionally, the odds are broken and some great cartoons based on video games hit the television screen. I’d have to admit, that most cartoons based on video games ended up looking like crap and tasting even worse, but the list of the worst cartoons based on video games is for another day. Most of the great cartoons on my list come from the ass kicking days of cartoons when Saturday morning was worth waking up for. Videos of #2 through #5 follow the break. These were all good. SMB3 series just came out on DVD, in case anyone didn’t know.

Umm.. D&D is not based on a video game William. There were video games made long after it but not at the time it was created and released. D&D is based on the Pen and Paper version of the game.
I was under the impression that quite a bit of the show was based on the Intellivision games that came out in the early 1980s…..if I’m not mistaken those came out somewhere around 1983-ish. Of course it’s mostly based off the pen and paper games.
The Adventures of Sonic so beat SMB3 it’s unfair for the plumbers. It was childish, but such awesome fun. Sonic X on the otherhand can go straight to hell.
William: True, there was the Intellivision game, but what did that have to do with anything D&D? It had the name, a dragon and a sword.. hmm..
Didn’t mean to disparage it just seems to me the link to games came much later after the generation who grew up watching the CBS D&D cartoon grew older and wanted games like Pools of Radiance and Curse of the Azure Bonds.
