Top 10 Video Game Remakes

Lucas DeWoody has posted an article on Advanced Media Network listing the Top 10 Video Game Remakes of all time. He is not biased towards any particular genre or system, the most important aspect of a remake according to him is “how much the remake significantly improved on an original classic”. Looking over his list, there is honestly little I could find fault with, especially considering how many of my favorite games are included in this list. Read over the list and see if you agree with him, and of course I always have to throw my two cents in every once in a while too.

9. Conker: Live & Reloaded
8. Super Mario All-Stars
7. Star Fox 64
6. Prince of Persia Classic
5. Tomb Raider Anniversary
4. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
3. Metroid Zero Mission
2. Final Fantasy III
1. Resident Evil
Conker: Live and Reloaded - Conker is a must and being brought to the Xbox only made it look better. I have to agree with Lucas, I too was a little disappointed with some of the “bleeping” but other than that, it was a great transition from the N64.
Super Mario All-Stars – This is a no-brainer. How could anyone argue with this one?
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes – I think I am the only female in the tri-city area who played this game, let alone loves the series so much.
Resident Evil – Seeing this, one of my favorite games of all time listed as number makes me contemplate asking Lucas to marry me. RE is in a class all by itself, and when Nintendo brought it to the GameCube it was like Christmas morning every time I sat down to play it.
This is Jack Red and i was happy to see that the best remake of all time is Resident Evil on GC which was good and has more secrets to unlock.
