The Skate demo really seems to have resonated with gamers who have become burned out with the stale Tony Hawk franchise. With Skate released just yesterday, a demo of Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground hit the Xbox Live Marketplace today, hoping to deter potential customers out of picking up Skate instead of Tony Hawk.
According to the description, you’ll skate around Philadelphia and be able to try out the new video editor, Nail the Grab, and modify the environment. It’s nice that you’ll be able to try out these new features, but I don’t think Proving Ground has a chance of converting those newly-found Skate lovers back.

I dont think it is fair to try to compare a tony hawk game to skate because they use completley different systems of play skate is your more realistic type of skating more like a real simulation type game whereas tony hawks is not designed to be completley realistic it is made for the pure fun you cant get any of the rediculous fun combos you get in tony hawks in skate.
I think its all down to if you prefer more realistic based gameplay go for skate but if you want something that is easy for anyone to pickup and play instantly get tony hawks.
I called my local stores and they said they won’t have skate until the 14th, and I checked online and it said that the game isnt out until the 14th. What gives? is it being sold, but no stores have received it yet?
