Tons of New Sims Games on the Way: MySims, Next-Gen The Sims, SimAnimals, and More

Whether you’re a fan of them or not, you can’t disagree that Sims games have been an overwhelming success in many different forms. Electronic Arts’ Sims division has announced multiple new Sims games, including their intention to begin developing “the next generation game for The Sims” within the next three years. Looks like it could be a long wait for that particular game, but there certainly are enough expansion packs out there.
MySims will be seeing a follow up after shipping 3 million units and producing $100 million in revenue on the Wii and DS. Two new titles will appear on both the DS and Wii in the 2009 fiscal year, as well as a PC version of MySims. MySims Kingdom and the PC version of MySims should be in stores during the last quarter of 2008, while the other game – MySims Party – will ship in the first quarter of 2009.
And just to round things off, we’ll also be seeing SimCity Creator and SimAnimals, the latter of which we’ll see by the end of March ’09. Creator currently has no date attached to it, but you can expect it before March 2011. That looks like it could be quite a wait.
Sims overload, much?
