Thunder…Thunder…Thundercats! Movie!

Rejoice, children of the 80’s. It looks like Warner Bros. has optioned a script based on the popular cartoon and toy line, “Thundercats.” For those of you who were severely deprived growing up, “Thundercats” is the story of a group of humanoid cat-like creatures forced to flee their home planet right before it is destroyed. They crash land on an alien world, where they constantly battle a villainous sorcerer, named Mumm-Ra. The script, penned by Paul Sopocy, will revolve around their origin and how their leader, Lion-O, takes on his responsibilities. This will be Sopocy’s first studio-produced script, and it will be made into a CGI film. Here’s hoping it comes out better than the TMNT travesty. Snarf!
This is, of course, wonderfull news. The best cartoon ever produced. I just hope they make it work. Its not a job I would want to undertake. But I think as long as they get the casting right, would be sooo wonderfull to get all the old cast back, and as long as they get the right story then I dont see how it can fail. What I dont want to see however is Thundercats New and improved. U cant improve it. You can only improve things that were never that good or had proplems. Thundercats never had any proplems when it was on screen on is a work of art. All the stroys were well written and the charcthers were so alive for a cartoon show. Just keep it as it is. The music, the charcthers and, if posible, the voices to. If however a new cast is needed, for what ever reason, then just make sure its a cast that can pay tribute and do Teds creation justice. Dont get BIG name actors to do it who dont have a passion for it. Good Luck your going to need it

hi, iv actually seen the movie, and its pretty good, a guy called bruce forsthye plays snarf who is now the leader of the thunder cats, a strange twist but i cant give too much away. Lion -o- is played by john cena, you heard it here first. Panthra is played by a terry tibbs, jitara by kym wilde. any questions on the rest please feel free to ask!
I’m so happy that they will make a movie version of my favorite feline; the Thunder Cats. I grew up in the 80’s and it was awesome when the Transformers came out, but have the Thunder Cats loose on the big screen? This will be an awesome treat for us who watched the cartoons in the 80’s, and to imagine that we’ll be able to share it with today’s new generation of cartoon lovers? Let us just hope that when we watch it on theaters, we won’t just get that nostalgic feeling of childhood, but be entertained and that cats do have nine lives.
