Resistance 2 is the sequel to fps Resistance: Fall of Man. In the sequel, a Black Ops aircraft takes Sgt. Nathan Hale to the base of the Special Projects Research Administration (SPRA) in Iceland. Hale arrives at the base and discovers that there are others like him that are resistant to the Chimera virus who have been collected together from around the world by the SPRA. The result is a task force called ‘The Sentinels’. The base then comes under attack by Chimera forces and ‘The Sentinels’ manage to escape to the United States. Two years after the Chimeran defeat in Great Britain, the Chimera launch a full-scale aerial invasion on both the east and west coasts of the United States.
The game will feature two campaigns. A single player campaign which will follow the story of Nathan Hale and a co-operative campaign that will have a storyline running parallel to Hale’s campaign. The co-operative campaign will support up to 8 players online or 2 player split screen with classes including a medic class, a heavy weapons class, and a special ops class. The online multiplayer aspect of the game will support up to 60 players online. The game will also feature 12 new Chimeran enemies.
Resistance 2 (aka Resistance: Fall of Man 2) is slated for a November release for the PS3.

Definitely looking forward to Resistance 2.
Although I still don't see how Killzone 2 was in any way, shape, or form, a good idea.

This sounds cool. And I'm a 360 guy.
However my gut says GoW II will beat it.

There's some parts about online that isn't included in this article. I didn't get really excited for this game until I learned that not only will it be 60 players online, it's not just going to be like some giant deathmatch. They're making it so that you're put into a squad of players, and each squad has a different objective on the map. Each squad also has an opposing squad on the other team. I think it sounds awesome. Say, one squad is absolutely owning their opposing squad, so they leave a couple of guys to defend a key position and go help out a squad that isn't doing so hot. Or the other team sends more guys to take out the dominating squad, but that leaves the rest of their lines weakened. There's the possibility for a lot of tactics.
