This Summer Will Rule On The Xbox 360

All gamers know that summer is usually slow and boring when it comes to game releases. This summer, save up some money because great games are coming out on the Xbox 360. This could actually be the best summer ever for games. Many titles are being released and the following are my picks for the must-have Xbox 360 games of summer:
All-Pro Football 2k8 (July 16)
Forget about Madden this summer. 2K sports is back and I don’t care that they don’t have the NFL licenses. Madden is getting old, and has slacked off with improvements the past couple of years. It’s really time for a shift and I think 2k8 appears to be the better of the two options.
BioShock (August 21)
I think we’ve said all we need to about BioShock in the past. This game will definitely rule. It’s sort of a hybrid RPG/Action/FPS/Adventure game that will probably be the best game of the summer for the Xbox 360.
Blue Dragon (August)
Blue Dragon hasn’t got as much attention as I thought it would, but it’s a game I am waiting for. I am a huge fan of traditional turn-based RPGs like the old Final Fantasy games, so this will be a winner for anyone interested in classic style games. The game is so massive, that it’s on 3 discs, so that’s a great sign.
Project Gotham Racing 4 (September)
This game could easily knock Forza off it’s high horse I think. The customization and number of cars aren’t there, but I think the pure racing action will be the winner. PGR4 also features a highly advanced weather system, something Forza does not have to offer. I like a good challenge, and I think PGR4 with it’s updated AI and weather features will offer us just that.
Skate (September)
I hate knocking Tony Hawk, because I have owned every Hawk game ever released. Unfortunately, the series was getting a bit dry and repetitive. Playing TH is kind of like button mashing in many ways once you know all the moves and it quickly lost it’s challenge over the years. I also found the abilities in the Hawk series to be a bit questionable. Skate from EA introduces a new physics-based approached to video game skating that I think many of us will find refreshing. I’m not sure if ‘Skate’ will be better than Tony Hawk, but perhaps it is time for something different.
Two Worlds (August 7)
Two Worlds is a medieval themed RPG that has been compared to Oblivion by many who have had the chance to sample the game. It’s supposed to be a massive game and also features online-multiplayer modes for you to quest with friends.
Of course, there are some other great games coming out this summer for the 360, but those are the ones I am primarily excited about.
